Twitter to track phone numbers in new anti-harassment effort

Twitter is now tracking phone numbers in a new effort to prevent abuse on the social media platform.

The company said it is trying to stop banned users from creating new accounts, saying that it's easier for a banned user to obtain a new e-mail address than it is to get a new phone number.

This is one of several new anti-harassment tools Twitter is unveiling.
