CHICAGO (WLS) -- Crews are repairing a gas main in the East Beverly neighborhood on the city's South Side. Gas was shut off to the area and about 90 customers are affected.
The leak happened late Wednesday afternoon when the water department was doing work in the area at 100th and Prospect and hit the gas main.
Crews are going door-to-door to help people re-light appliances. The leak happened less than a mile from where a home was destroyed in an explosion on Tuesday.
Investigators are trying to find out if water crews may have hit a gas line there also.
