Man killed near West Chicago; investigators search for victim's car

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. (WLS) -- The DuPage County Sheriff's Office identified a 27-year-old man who was murdered in unincorporated West Chicago. Investigators are also looking for his car.

Officers found Enrique Hernandez, Jr. on the side of the road near High Lake and DuPage avenues around 11 p.m. Friday. He was taken to Central DuPage Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The sheriff's office said did not release details about how Hernandez was killed. They said he was a documented gang member and believe he was targeted. Investigators called his death an isolated incident.

They are also searching for his car, a silver or gray 4-door 2007 Chevrolet Aveo with Illinois license plate R614016.
