Woman fatally struck by motorcycle on Lake Shore Drive

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 25-year-old woman is dead after a motorcyclist hit her and a man crossing Lake Shore Drive near Grant Park.

Police said a 20-year-old man on a motorcycle was weaving between stopped cars in the 700-block of South Lake Shore Drive around 10:30 p.m. Monday, when he struck the two victims.

The woman was rushed to Northwest Memorial Hospital, where she died. The man was transported to Stroger Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

The motorcyclist was also injured in the crash. He was also taken to Northwestern, where he is listed in serious condition.

He is in police custody and charges against him are pending.

Lake Shore Drive was shut down between East Jackson Drive and East Balbo Avenue for four hours for the crash investigation.
