Construction worker injured at Wrigley Field

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A construction worker was injured in an accident at Wrigley Field Friday morning.

According to the Chicago Fire Department, a female worker was moving a cart carrying metal materials in a basement area when it fell on her. Other workers were able to free her.

Chicago Cubs spokesman Julian Green said the worker was conscious and talking following the accident. She was evaluated at the scene and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital with injuries to her face, neck and back.

Green said the worker was injured while working on the west side of the ballpark.
