Study directly links obesity to inflammation

Scientists at Albert Einstein College of Medicine wanted to know more about fatty acids in the bloodstream. They injected healthy volunteers with a fat mixture typically found in obese people.

The result?

The previously healthy volunteers temporarily developed signs of diabetes and inflammation.

Researchers say this proves the real danger from obesity comes from the fat in the bloodstream that activates these damaging inflammatory cells. But, it's possible to reduce the fat in your system with simple life style changes, such as eating more low fat foods and exercising.
