Eight students from Palatine High School's brass ensemble band performed Saturday for White House staff and their families. The ensemble performed at a holiday open house.

The northwest suburban school's concert choir sang at the White House last year, but was unable to go again. The music chair at Palatine High School suggested the brass ensemble as a substitute.

    The members include:
  • Mitchell Zielinski, Trumpet
  • Iain Shipton, Trumpet
  • Peter Haney, French Horn
  • Vincent Cook, French Horn
  • Jim Hargrove, Trombone
  • Tommy Laabs, Trombone
  • Michael Hickey , Tuba

The group is led by Raeleen Horn.

About 1,000 people attended the open house.
