Riders, family, friends give Marine hero's welcome

June 4, 2011 (PLAINFIELD)

Lance Corporal Kyle Villalobos of west suburban Plainfield is a motorcyclist.

The Warriors' Watch riders joined police, relatives and friends to surprise Villalobos with cheers and applause, and they brought a motorcycle for him.

He joined the riders in a ride from Midway Airport back home to Plainfield.

"I was surprised. I didn't think they were going to be right there for me. So, it's pretty awesome," said Villalobos.

"I'm thankful that my son was a lucky one to come home, because I know there's so many that aren't," said Kyle's mother, Gina Villalobos. "God bless to all our troops."

"I try not to cry, but it's hard to do," said Kyle's father Roland Villalobos. "But i tried."

Plainfield police escorted Villalobos and the other motorcyclists.

Last year, the Warriors' Watch riders gave Villalobos a special sendoff when he left to begin his tour of duty in Afghanistan.
