Semi crushes minivan; no serious injuries

October 20, 2011

It happened around 4:20 Thursday morning in the westbound lanes of the Borman Expressway.

The truck driver claims he lost control of his rig when a gust of wind blew, causing the truck to cross from the far left lane into the right, pinning the minivan underneath the semi.

Billy Ralph, 32, of Chesterton, managed to climb out from under the big rig. He only suffered an injury to his head.

The driver of the semi was issued a ticket for the crash.
