Winds flame Naperville brush fire

The heat damaged more than a dozen windows, and 1,500 people had to evacuate the building.

High winds fanned the flames of a brush fire in west suburban Naperville that damaged the Office Max headquarters.

The fire was reported around 1:30 Monday afternoon.

There was a red flag alert at the time warning of favorable conditions for wildfires.

The heat damaged more than a dozen windows, and 1,500 people had to evacuate the building.

There were no reports of injuries.

Damage is estimated at $20,000 as firefighters quickly put out the flames.
