Teenagers who smoke may have trouble hearing.

A team of experts from Yale University found teens who were exposed to smoke had trouble focusing and interpreting sounds where there was a distraction.

Researchers looked at 67 children aged 13 to 18. They found that nicotine caused change in the brain's white matter, which is responsible for transmitting messages.

The study also found the risk is there if a teen's mother smoked during her pregnancy.
