This coming Saturday, some of the brightest high school students from the Chicago area will compete against each other in Act-So -- the "Afro-academic, cultural, technological and scientific Olympics."This year marks the 30th anniversary of the program, which was the brainchild of an ABC7 former colleagues, the late journalist Vernon Jarrett.

Act-So aims to support academic and artistic excellence among African American youth.
