Milk prices likely to drop

Milk drinkers may soon see relief in the dairy aisle. The U.S. Department of Agriculture says milk prices won't come close to the 12 percent surge last year.

The cow population has grown, and more milk is being produced. That should translate into lower prices.

Right now, the average price for a gallon of milk is just under $4.

The increase in milk production could also help moderate retail prices for other dairy products including butter, cheese and ice cream.
