At first, the boys thought Jazmine was joking when she started screaming. Then they sprang into action, using the tree for leverage as one grabbed her ponytail and the strap on her clothes to pull the girl out.
"I started to run over here and then I saw Jazmine and she couldn't even grip the ice. I grabbed onto that tree and I started grabbing on to her strap. And her hair was around it," said Jeffrey Gjavenis, rescued cousin.
Jazmine is fine, and the children had a great story to tell at school about the rescue.
