Man convicted of driving shooter who killed child
AURORA In November of 1996, 6-year-old Nico Contreras was sleeping at his grandmother's home when he was shot though a window and killed.
Prosecutors say Elias Diaz drove the shooter there.
The gunfire was reportedly intended for the boy's uncle in retaliation for another gang shooting.
Prosecutors say Diaz could be sentenced to up to 100 years in prison because the victim was a child.
The alleged shooter, Mark Downs, is also charged with the murder.
His case is pending.
