Jared Lebrun was with his mother in their Columbus home when she passed out with complications from her pregnancy.
Jared said he knew something was wrong with his mom and said he learned from his kindergarten class to call 9-1-1 in an emergency.
While he waited on the telephone for the ambulance to arrive, Jared's dad called.
"I told my dad to hold on [because] I was talking to the ambulance," Jared said.
The young boy's mother and the baby are doing fine. The mother said she was proud of her son, and so are some community organizations. Jared is being considered for several awards.
