Chicago firefighters rescued four people from a burning North Side apartment building Friday night. The fire happened in the 2900-block of West Foster Avenue in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood.

Some firefighters happened to be in the neighborhood responding to an ambulance assist call when a woman approached them and reported the fire.

When firefighters arrived there was heavy fire on the first floor of the two-story brick building.

Firefighters went up a ladder to rescue a four-year-old boy and his father. Two women were also rescued from the building.

No one was seriously injured.
