Burns: Treat with cool water (not ice or butter), leave blisters intact, burns that break the skin should be seen by a doctor

Cuts: If it is large enough to see deep tissues, it needs to be treated by a doctor. Scars can occur even with stitches. Size of scar is generally the size of wound before repair.
