Chicago's express bus service is speeding up

CHICAGO Starting in January, buses and ten intersections along the CTA's X49 route will be equipped with optical or radio transmitters. They're capable of extending a green light or shortening a red light to improve travel times by as much as 15 percent.

The sensors will be tested for six months.
