Deal averts strike by teachers and staff

CHICAGO The deal averts a strike by teachers and staff in the elementary school district that serves students in Wilmette and parts of Glenview and Winnetka.

The contract includes an average salary increase of at least five percent each year. The contract also solves a dispute over health insurance premiums.
