Voters in large numbers continue to take advantage of early voting across Illinois. As of Tuesday, about 23,000 ballots had been cast in Chicago. Cook County Clerk David Orr says more than 16,000 people have votes in suburban Cook County.

Several downstate locations have also reported brisk business at early voting locations.

This is the first time early voting has been offered in Illinois for a presidential general election.
