The officers reportedly asked Ruppert to step outside then beat him. Ruppert claimed that during the attack officers used anti-gay slurs.
Jury selection to begin in alleged beating case
It happened in March of 2006.
Lawyers for Alexander Ruppert say the officers were on duty and responding to a call at the Uptown Lounge at Broadway and Lawrence.
