On Friday, hundreds gathered for his funeral. From 1980 to 2000, Wolf was rabbi at the Isaiah Synagogue in Hyde Park.
It's one of the oldest Jewish congregations in the city. It's also just across the street from the home of President-elect Barack Obama.
Obama released a statement saying Rabbi Wolf wasn't just a neighbor, but "a dear friend."
