Former deputy police supt. remembered

Loved ones remembered former Chicago Deputy Police Supt. John Risley Saturday morning.Mourners followed the casket into All Saints St. Anthony Church in Bridgeport, the South Side neighborhood where Risley grew up.

Risley spent 31 years with the department and served as deputy superintendent under Phil Cline. During his tenure, Risley created the Targeted Response Unit to help deal with street violence.

Risley retired in February 2008. He died Tuesday from an apparent heart attack.
