It happened around 1:15 a.m. in the 7100 block of South Vincennes. A party was reportedly taking place at the Elbow Grease Car Wash.
Andre Jackson, 29, was killed.
People living in the area said they couldn't understand what leads some to commit such violence.
"I really don't know what it is that's going on to where you actually have to end someone's life. That's someone's dad, brother, whatever the case is," said a neighborhood resident who identified herself as Ms. Belk.
"I just hope we can just come together as one community and just clean it up and just stop all this fighting and killing and hurting each other," resident Nolan Granderson told ABC7 Chicago.
An anti-violence activist showed up on the scene Saturday to talk to witnesses and encourage them to come forward with what they know.
"We're trying to identify who the shooters are and asking the public for their help. If you know anything about who called these six people, maybe more, call the Chicago Police Department, or if you don't feel comfortable with that call your church pastor," said Andrew Holmes, anti-violence activist.
