Quinn: Illinoisans sick and tired of corruption

May 1, 2009 (CHICAGO) The governor told host Alan Krashesky Friday on ABC7's NewsViews that his reform commission's suggestions on Tuesday were a landmark achievement. He strongly endorsed the panel's call for some type of public funding of elections.

"So we don't have this whole system where people are going out, getting huge campaign contributions, getting indebted to special interests or nefarious characters," Quinn said. "So I really want to see if there's a possibility this month of passing landmark legislation when it comes to campaign finance."
