Some schools reopen after flu outbreak

May 5, 2009 Kilmer Elementary School, the first school to be closed in Illinois because of the H1N1 flu, is set to reopen on Wednesday morning. Students at the school in Roger's Park missed one week of school.

In Joliet, Farragut Elementary School reopened on Tuesday after it was closed last week. A student there came down with a probable case of the flu. The school underwent a deep cleaning while it was closed.

By Tuesday, a dozen schools reopened after closing for a few days last week. At least 10 more are expected to resume classes on Wednesday.
