Officers say he held up a store clerk with a shotgun, which he tucked into a bag along with the cash from the robbery.
"It kinda went down real quick. I think he was probably more surprised than we were that we were there. I think when he walked out of the 7-11 after the robbery he didn't expect to see a police SUV right in front," said Fitzsimmons.
The clerk was not injured.
Burdine is charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a weapon.
