Birkett to run for Ill. Atty. General

July 2, 2009 (CHICAGO) Birkett made the announcement late this afternoon.

This will be Birkett's second attempt at becoming attorney general.

He released a video Thursday stating that he wants to remain a prosecutor, doesn't want to be governor, and wants to root out public corruption.
