Sprint, Samsung to make green cellphone

August 7, 2009 They say the Samsung Reclaim is made with 80 percent recyclable materials.

Some proceeds from the sale of each phone will be donated to a program that supports land conservation. The phone's outer casing is made with a bio-plastic derived from corn. The packaging and phone tray are made from 70 percent recycled materials and most of the printing on the box is soy-based ink.

The phone will cost about $50 after rebates when it goes on sale August 16.

A two-year sprint contract is required.
