The Chicago Newspaper Guild says another potential buyer surfaced after the paper's editorial workers rejected Tyree's concession demands.
It's possible that bidder could be one of the 22 parties that had previously signed confidentiality agreements when receiving background information on the company.
Bids for the company are due by October 5th.
