Board to vote on MSI admission hike

November 18, 2009 (CHICAGO) The park district, like other government agencies, is facing a budget deficit.

In addition to the museum fee hike, the park district plans to reduce subsides to all of the city's museums by 10 percent.

Next month, the board will hold public hearings on plans to raise fees for all park district programs as well as the fee for boat slips.

The proposed fee hike at the museum calls for non-city residents to pay $15 next year, up $2, while Chicago residents would pay $13, a dollar more.
