Englewood drug bust nets 400 cannabis plants

Chicago drug investigators raided a South Side marijuana growing operation and arrested the alleged proprietor on drug charges.Narcotic officers say 35-year-old Edwin Kupi was growing more than 400 cannabis plants in two adjacent storefront properties in the Englewood neighborhood.

Video taken by police show several rooms crowded with lush marijuana plants growing under special lights. Police estimate the value of confiscated drugs at $2.5 million.

Kupi is expected to appear in court Saturday.
