Nearly 300 youth groups in the Chicago area are going without food for 30 hours this weekend to raise money to fight world hunger and help earthquake victims in Haiti.A group from United Methodist Church in Libertyville traveled to Chicago Saturday to volunteer at Cornerstone Community Outreach, a shelter for women with children on North Clifton.

The idea is to give the students a real taste of hunger as they help feed and care for children living in extreme poverty around the world.

This is the 19th year for World Vision's 30-hour famine.
