Local medical team volunteers in Haiti

Three members of the medical team from Hinsdale Orthopeadics have just returned from volunteering in Haiti.

They worked in a makeshift hospital for two weeks along with about a dozen other volunteers from the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Hospital, umm.edu/shocktrauma and Catholic Relief Services, crs.org.

Orthopedic surgeon Steve Louis, M.D; physician's assistant Katey O'Connell and surgical technician Ann Whirl of Hinsdale Orthopeadics ( www.hoasc.com/ worked under physically and emotionally demanding conditions. They shared their remarkable experiences and photos with us.
