Dominick Calhoun's grandparents say there were no signs of abuse

Family reaches out to community to be aware of abuse
ARGENTINE TOWNSHIP Police say Calhoun was beaten at an apartment in Argentine Township over the weekend. The child was taken to Hurly Medical Center where he died.

The Genesee County prosecutor confirms the boyfriend of the little boy's mother, Brandon Hays, will be charged in connection to the case.

Hays is currently being held in the Genesee County Jail on drug related charges.

Meanwhile, the boy's grandparents on his mother's and father's side say this is the first beating incident that they're aware of, but they say it's possible they just didn't see the signs.

Calhoun's grandparents are now urging the Mid-Michigan community to pay closer attention to possible signs of child abuse.

And they're using Facebook to help spread their message. A page is now set up in Calhoun's honor titled Justice for Dominick.

Right now it's not clear who's in charge of the page, but more than 3,000 people are supporting the cause.

Thousands in the community and beyond are writing on his wall showing support for the family and asking others to watch for signs of abuse.
