The new high-tech cars that feature seats facing the center aisle are moving to the Green Line and will be in service there on Monday.
Ten cars were tried out on the Red Line for the past four weeks.
By the end of the year, the prototypes will be tested on all eight CTA rail lines. If they function well, the CTA will order nearly 400 of the new cars. They feature updated electronic signage along with new security and braking technology.
Each car has seven networked security cameras and an event recorder similar to a black box.
