September 30, 2010 (CHICAGO)

Finas Morgan, 17, is charged as an adult in the shooting in the Englewood neighborhood. He also faces two weapons charges and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday. Chicago police confirm he has been arrested 17 times.

Morgan and 11-year-old Nicholas Davis were reportedly playing with Morgan's semi-automatic handgun when it discharged. The shooting took place in a home in the 6100-block of South Marshfield.

Morgan allegedly was frightened and threw the gun into a neighbor's yard, where officers found it, according to a police report.

Nicholas was shot in the abdomen, back and arm. He is recovering. Nicholas' 23-year-old brother was hurt in a different shooting on the North Side recently and is also still hospitalized.
