Sierre Haney , 19, of the 10800-block of South Rhodes Ave. faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, possession of a firearm without a license, aggravated assault of an officer, criminal damage to government property, possession of cannabis and resisting an officer.
Officers say they heard shots fired and saw Haney running in a Far South Side alley. Officers say as they approached Haney, he stopped, turned toward officers and threw the handgun he was carrying at them.
Police say the handgun struck and damaged the windshield of a patrol car. After a brief foot chase, Haney was caught on the 10700-block of South Eberhart Ave.
Police say Haney also had three small plastic bags of pot on him.
