Corporal Brandon Meyers actually returned home in June after spending 17 months in Iraq. He said he needed time to settle back in and he wasn't ready for a big celebration this summer.
But his mother recently contacted Operation Welcome Home, saying she thought it was time for him to see the support he had from the community.
Many at Sunday's homecoming offered their thanks to Meyers for his service to the country.
