Fourteen years ago this week Chicago Archbishop Francis George learned he was becoming a cardinal. He's our guest on this edition of NewsViews.

Cardinal George heads a huge archdiocese of almost 2.5 million Catholics, and more than 350 parishes.

He promotes inter-faith harmony, and is known for outreach to Jews, Muslims, Mormons, and members of other faiths.

He also has a tradition of visiting prisons to celebrate Christmas with those who are incarcerated.

And he had the honor of heading the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Cardinal George turned 74 last week.
