The "Blizzard of 2011" might have you longing for summer -- and now you can look forward to something besides warmer weather: Admission to the Taste of Chicago will stay free.

Mayor Daley's administration has turned down the lone bid by a private venture to operate Chicago's famous summer food festival.

The joint venture Celebrate Chicago had proposed a $20 and then a $10 admission.

But city officials called that "unacceptable" and said the city will continue to run Taste of Chicago.
