Alleged torture victim sues CPD

February 15, 2011 (CHICAGO)

In 1952, Oscar Walden Junior was arrested and charged with the rape of a white woman. He was paroled in 1965 after serving almost 14 years in prison on what he always said was a coerced confession.

Walden claims he was tortured and threatened by police. He was pardoned by former Illinois Governor Jim Thompson in 1978.
