SeaWorld to allow trainers back in killer-whale tanks

SeaWorld is allowing trainers back into tanks with killer whales for the first time since a northwest Indiana trainer was killed by one last year.

It was one year ago when Dawn Brancheau, 40, was dragged into the water by a six-ton orca named Tilikum.

Brancheau was killed during one of SeaWorld's shows in Orlando, Florida. Officials said they don't want trainers to have any physical contact with Tilikum.

But trainers at SeaWorld's marine parks will now begin limited water work with whales. Interactions will be restricted at first to small medical pools.
