Metra to resume work on UP North Line in April

Metra says it will resume bridge work on the Union Pacific North Line next month.

Twenty two aging bridges are scheduled for replacement along the line which runs from downtown through the northern suburbs. Construction is expected to start in April.

Unlike last summer, this next phase of work will be done using a two-track operation. The second track means train schedules will not change during construction.

Plans also call for the rebuilding of the Ravenswood Metra station on the city's North Side.
