Cleve Randall, 13, goes by the nicknames 'Scoot' and 'DNA.'
Police say it was on Thursday that Randall last made contact with his family from the Gresham neighborhood.
Randall was last seen on the 8000 block of South Ada Street. He was wearing a white school polo shirt, dark blue pants and a black windbreaker.
Anyone with information is asked to call Chicago police.
