Quinn nominates veteran to run state police

Gov. Pat Quinn has announced his choice to run the state police department.

Quinn nominated Hiram Grau for the job on Friday.

Grau is deputy chief of investigations for the Cook County state's attorney. He also spent 27 years with the Chicago Police Department.

The Illinois Senate will decide whether to confirm Grau's nomination.
