The British man who was arrested early Sunday after performing a so-called base jump from the top of a downtown high-rise says he did it "for a bit of fun."

Shaun Walters parachuted off the high-rise under construction at 117 West Wacker. He landed on the opposite side of Wacker Drive near the river.

Police arrested him and confiscated his jumping gear.

"The rear of the building was just free access. It wasn't even boarded up or anything. It's one of those moments that few people out there will realize, you just can't resist," said Walters.

Walters was arrested for reckless conduct which is a misdemeanor. He says he is sorry for the incident. He has a court date next month.
