Doctor collects daily pollen count

An allergist at Gottleib Memorial Hospital will determine the official allergy count for the Midwest every day.

Every weekday at 6 a.m., Dr. Joseph Leija will climb to the top of the professional building in Melrose Park with a special pollen catching machine. He will then take the samples to the office and run tests.

Get the Gottlieb Memorial Hospital pollen counts:
  • Hotline: (866) 4 POLLEN [ENGLISH] or (866) ALERGIA [Spanish]
  • Online:
  • Twitter: @Gottlieballergy [English] and @alergiagottlieb [Spanish]

Dr. Leija will continue the count through October, the end of the pollen-reporting season.
