Executive Chef Cary Taylor of The Southern restaurant shares this recipe.

A. AP Flour 4 cups
B. Baking Powder 1 TBL
C. Salt 1 tea
D. Cinnamon 1 tea
E. Baking Soda one-half tea
F. Nutmeg one-half tea
G. Eggs 2 each
H. Sugar 1 Cup
I. Blend Oil 2 TBL
J. Buttermilk 1 cup

1. Mix ingredients A through F together and thouroughly incorporate
2. Beat Eggs and sugar together until light and pale yellow
3. Fold in Oil and Buttermilk
4. Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl with the DOUGH HOOK attachment and mix until all ingredients come together.
6. Form into balls using purple handled scoop
7. To cook: Pinch in the middle and fry at 325 degrees until cooked through.
8. Fill with apple filling and toss in powdered sugar
